We are back and raring to go!!

Inspired by the band name of last week’s selection from our very Nick Peters, this week’s Tracks of the Week delves into the world of cinema.

In this entry, we take a look at some of SYS’ favourite songs from our most treasured film soundtracks.

I hope you enjoy!

Editor’s Choice:

I’m Not in Love” by 10cc (From Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1)

“I know we have the same franchise twice on this list but there is a perfectly good reason for that. These two films possess some of the best soundtracks of recent times, combining many songs my parents used to play throughout my childhood with fantastical storylines that’ll have anyone jumping out of their seats with laughter.”

Nick Peters (Bears in Trees):

“Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime” by Beck (The Korgis cover) (From Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind)

“It’s my favourite film of all time and I think the song is so well fitted for the mood and the feels the film conjures up in me.”

 Mikey Tree (deafpony, Deputy Editor):

“Mr Blue Sky” by Electric Light Orchestra (From Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2)

“It fits so perfectly with the cinematography and tone of the film to create one of the most dynamic and memorable openings to a film I’ve seen in recent years.”
